Dr. Paul Yamauchi is recognized for more than 25 years of contributions in the field of dermatology. As the executive medical director for the Dermatology Institute & Skin Care Center, the medical director for Clinical Science Institute, the clinical assistant profession of dermatology for the David Geffen School of Medicine and an adjunct associate professor of the John Wayne Cancer Institute, Dr. Yamauchi is heavily involved in both the education process and medical treatment process of dermatology. In addition, he has contributed many articles to professional journals.

He was set on his career path early in life, and graduated with a Bachelor of Biochemistry from UCLA in 1981. He continued to earn a Ph.D. in biologic chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1987 and then an MD from Case Western Reserve University in 1991. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatologists and a member of the National Psoriasis Foundation. He was honored in 2016 at a gala for his achievements in the field of psoriasis.
